This lab session started with a little bit of recap from previous week. We started to talk more about our latest coursework which requires a lot of research. But we were also talking about the weblog and things that can make it more interesting to people as well as more accessible (easy to read and use). I learned that my weblog should be easy to read and clear. Extra content like widgets should not make the weblog obscure, it should not be distracting people while reading it. After this lab session I also knew more about our second coursework and how to make it good. Because after first talk about it which was one week before I did not know exactly what should I do.

week four
In the fourth week on the lab session Laurence (tutor) talked about our next two courseworks. Mostly we concentrated on the coursework three because we needed to start working on this straight away. This coursework was about creating our own weblog, designing it and what what should be included in posts we write on it. After this lesson I know what weblog is and what are the goals of it. I learned how to create a free weblog on “Blogger” website and how to change the layout of my main page. I also learned how to write posts and what should be the content of each post required for third coursework.
week three
This week my tutor Laurence was talking about “function-driven” examples of interactive TV designs. At the beginning we had some recap from last week and after that we started to talk about assignment deliverables. He asked us to review some of the interactive systems in respect of their activities, context and user requirements. I learned that “function-driven” approach to interactive television design means that it is concentrated on giving the user specific functions that they need for example playing games on their ITV. I know now as well what are agrees deliverables.
week two
In the second week of Discovering Interaction Design module we were mostly talking about our designs of interactive TV which is our first coursework. The lesson started with recap from last week about evaluation and user experience. After that we were talking about interactive design principles and more about end user requirements. Tutor told us as well about what is TiVO and why it is successful . After this lesson I know what are the principles of good design including feedback, visibility, constraints and consistency. I know now that good design should recognize who are the users, what are their goals and how designed equipment can help users achieve these goals.

week one
In the first week of university I had my first lab session from CMT 1300 module which is called Discovering Interaction Design. It was an introduction lesson. On the lab session my tutor was talking about what we are going to do on this module. He told us what will be the first coursework about, because learning on this module is done mostly by working on designs. We were talking also about how to evaluate designs and about user experience. I learnt how to evaluate designs from user point of view. Also I know now that user requirements are one of the most important things when you are designing and it is important that you understand what user requirements are.
