week eleven

This was our first lab session after the Christmas. On the session we received feedback on our coursework two as well as we received some tips from the tutor about writing the report. Tutor also reminded us that on next week lab we need to show a short presentation about our research topic for the second coursework. I learned what should be included in good presentation and I was told that one for the lab session should have a maximum of three slides. Later on the lab I got feedback on my blog and I got instructions of how to submit it.

week ten

This was the last lab session before Christmas. We spend the time on working on our coursework two and getting feedback. I made up an questionnaire for my research and wrote a little bit about my methods. Tutor gave me feedback and told me how the questionnaire should look like. I learned that it should not include to many open questions because it is hard to compare them and get results. My questionnaire got 10 questions witch two open questions. I decided to give it to 15 people as this should be sufficient for my research.

week nine

The week nine lab started different than the past ones. We got new lab tutor and new module leaders starting from this week. The lab started with talk about the changes that have been made to the staff as well as to students work. We met also one of the new module leaders who then was helping everyone together with tutor, doing the coursework two. I was told that I should change my research question because ambient intelligence is a hard area to research. I swap my research question for: "How the e-books affect the reading comparing to paper based?". The deadline of the coursework was again extended to week 12 so I can conduct my research during Christmas break.

week eight

After this week lab session I was very happy because I did get some help with my coursework two. My topic for the research is ambient intelligence in home environment. My tutor helped me with my question and gave me few ideas about what should I write about specifically. The second coursework deadline was extended so it is due on the week before Christmas. On the lab I also received more feedback on my third coursework which is this blog. My tutor said that the changes I made are good and asked me to change couple more things, mostly layout and some colours.

week seven

Week seven was a reading week for the students doing interactive design. We had only lecture and no lab session this week so we can spend the time improving coursework two which is due in week eight. At the moment I am not doing very well with my second coursework as I got problem with understanding what is required of me. I need to contact my tutor to get some help.

week six

This week on our lab session we discussed our scores from the first coursework and I was a little bit disappointed with my grade as I put a lot of effort in my first coursework and the grade i got was average. I will try better with my next coursework which we are discussing recently on the labs. The second coursework is about research we need to conduct and then write up report based on the research outcome.
This week I learned that I need to do some changes to my blog because it is not clear enough.
